Scottsdale Culinary Festival

A few weeks ago, at the request of Andrea to celebrate her birthday, we all got together and headed up to Scottsdale for the annual Culinary Festival. The Scottsdale Culinary festival is held outside at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts Park and is made up of hundreds of booths showcasing the food and beverages from various bars and resturants around the Phoenix valley. You buy tickets at a central ticket booth and at each restaurants booth it ranges from 1 to 5 tickets to sample their featured items. It's a great time and gives people a good chance to sample new food and become acquainted with restaurants they may not normally try.

One of the highlights of the Scottsdale Culinary Festival is always the Beer Garden. A number of different local brewery's have booths setup where for one ticket you can sample one of their beers. When you enter the Beer Garden you're given a small sampling glass and you use this to go around and 'taste test' all the different beers. The best thing about the little glasses is that you never really know how much you're drinking. :-)

Following the festival we all headed back to our place for a barbeque, some late night drinking and a cake for Andrea's birthday. The weather was perfect for a festival and it was a great day spent with food and friends.

You're in Mesa! I did not know that.

Looks fun. When I was down in April, we tried to go to Scottsdale, but couldn't find a place to park. It was insane. I had a fit and we headed back to Tempe.
