Hello I'm Rich Brown and this is my personal website and blog. I'm just your simple, average, down to earth, professional, out gay man and aspiring circuit boy, living in Phoenix, Arizona with a few things to say while trying to find my place among all the scary, conservative, religious nuts in this sick and twisted world.

Turn On the Radio and Dance
I still can't quite explain it but I've always had this draw towards dance music. Perhaps it's just the gay factor, who knows, but ever since I can remember I've enjoyed the sound, the beat and most importantly the mood which dance music casts over me.
I have to admit that I've been in a pretty foul mood all day today. Between work, physical exhaustion, and not feeling all that well, it's just not been a very good day. It feels like I've been sitting here all day waiting for Justin to finish up with work so that I could just pack up and head home. About an hour ago I finally found my fix by logging into XM Radio Online and hitting the BPM preset, which by the way is in fact the only preset I have programmed on there. BPM, or Beats Per Minute, is one of the XM Radio dance stations.
No matter what mood I'm in, I can turn on the dance music and it brings a smile to my face. Over the last hour my day just got better, and although I'm still ready to head home here soon, I know I'll be leaving the office in a much better mood. Sometimes I wish that I could explain to people how the music makes me feel, but I just don't have the ability to accurately put it into words. I do think that if more people would step back and just take some time to enjoy a little quality music, the world would be a much calmer place, and people would generally be in better moods. That's pretty much my dissertation for today. So I say ... Turn on the radio and dance people, it will make you smile and after all the world could really use more smiles these days. :-)
Rich ... I can totally relate. It's funny how much of an impact music can make in your life. It helps in so many ways! Keep on dancing to the beat. Hope you get to feeling better soon!
:)

I actually have the radio or my iPod on all day. I would rather listen to music and dance in my livingroom or bap around in my chair at work then watch TV. Which is why the TV hardly ever gets turned on.

I agree, groovin to some dance music can chase the blues away. I've been listening to the latest Madonna CD on my iPod for the last 3 months pretty consistently. It always puts me in a playful mood. Thanks for a good post ;)

Music has helped me through a lot of stuff so I completely understand what you mean, Rich. Depending on the need, I'll pump up with some rock or calm down with some classical. Love it!
Just catching up on blogs and I read your last post on home-work. Wow! I truly look forward to the before and after pics! :-)
Hubby has been landscaping our front yard and it's looking beautiful. I've been redecorating inside and it's looking great. (all on my blog with pics) The thing I've wanted to do the most of all is exactly what you are doing.... ripping out my tired old carpeting and installing the exact same kind of wood laminate that you are! Only difference is I'd also like to use cork flooring in my kitchen and bathroom.
Hope you're doing well, sending you a hug!
