Hello I'm Rich Brown and this is my personal website and blog. I'm just your simple, average, down to earth, professional, out gay man and aspiring circuit boy, living in Phoenix, Arizona with a few things to say while trying to find my place among all the scary, conservative, religious nuts in this sick and twisted world.

Prop 107 and the Prop107.com Website
If you live in Arizona and you haven't heard about Prop 107 then you haven't been listening.
Prop 107known as the "Protect marriage Arizona" Amendment is a proposed ballot measure for the 2006 Arizona General Election. It states: "To preserve and protect marriage in this state, only a union between one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage by this state or its political subdivisions and no legal status for unmarried persons shall be created or recognized by this state or its political subdivisions that is similar to that of marriage."
Anyway my main point of this post isn't really about Prop 107. You know my feeling on that from this past post, it's wrong and you should Vote NO on Prop 107, simply because over 100,000 Arizonans could lose their health insurance benefits, hospital visitations, the power to make decisions for loved ones in the case of an emergency and inheritance rights if the amendment passes. My main point is about the Prop107.comwebsite. About Prop107.com Prop107.comis a parody website which spoofs the anti-gay rhetoric that's being feed to the masses these days and cuts right through the jargon. It's been featured in articles by the Arizona Republic, the Tucson Weekly and other local Arizona publications. Apparently the site has the supporters of Prop 107very angry and has help caused a bit of a stir around Prop 107and it's true intentions.
According to a one of the articles on Prop107.com, "The definition of what is a man, and what is a woman, remains a big gaping hole that needs to be plugged. Just because someone says they are a woman doesn't mean they really are."
Prop107.com is an enlightening and interesting website even if you don't live in Arizona and would like some insight as to the insanity that we have to deal with on a daily basis. Check it out it's worth it.
My Feelings About Proposition 107
Proposition 107 is being pushed by a bunch of right-wing, conservative, religious fanatics who have nothing better to do with their lives then try and see that my personal relationship is completely BANNED. That's right banned. Prop 107goes too far because technically marriage between gays is already 'illegal' in Arizona by law, but Prop 107 will also restrict the ability for any type of domestic partnership or Civil Union in this state, gay or straight, it blocks the rights of any unmarried couples.
Basically the people in support of Prop 107 have proceeded to bombard us with their rhetoric and 'Activist Judges" banter in trying to justify yet adding more discrimination to our constitution. (Which brings up another entirely different issue, when did a judge become an 'Activist Judge' just because he makes a decision a group is unhappy with? But I'm not going to go there right now.)
My last comment on this subject for now is that one day people will look back upon our society and these decades as a time of intolerance where we actually used the tools of democracy to create discrimination and further hatred among groups of people. Shame on us, and for all those religious fanatics out there, I hope in the end you have to explain why you hated us so much.
