Hello I'm Rich Brown and this is my personal website and blog. I'm just your simple, average, down to earth, professional, out gay man and aspiring circuit boy, living in Phoenix, Arizona with a few things to say while trying to find my place among all the scary, conservative, religious nuts in this sick and twisted world.

Who Loves You?
Have you ever given a serious thought about who really, truely cares about you? What about who would be the first person through your door to help you during a crisis?
I've actually given this some thought lately and I'm not exactly sure that I'm thrilled with the answers. I mean for me the answers to these questions would obviously be Justin and my Mother, but I'm talking about something a little deeper then just your significant other or your family.
I think this came to mind for me a few weeks ago after seeing an episode of ABC's Extreme Makover Home Edition. I just heard people on there talking about how the community came together for this family and how everyone knew each other and was there to help. I gave it some thought and I couldn't help to think that I don't even really know many people in my community. I'm not even sure what is my community, I mean it's certainly not the community where I live because I don't even know the neightbors behind me or across the street from me, let alone anyone who would offer to help me with anything. I guess for us our community would be our greater circle of friends first and then perhaps the gay community in general. I don't know. I have many acquaintences but only a select few who I know I could count on in the end.
It's something interesting to think about though don't you agree? It really gives you a little perspective as how many people you can rely on in life. Cheers.
Rich, That sure is a question with some depth! Like you mentioned, communities often come together when dire need takes hold, only then do you see the true spirit of "Love" come alive! For most of us in a given (crisis)situation we will always extend a helping hand. What bothers me is those who could be there at the right time & choose to ignore the plea's for help! Personally, apart from my immediate family I don't think there is anyone who would risk life and limb to protect me. Friendship too is limited when it comes to loyalty. Yet there are those who would do anything "within reason" to help you out! Just my thougts!

Other than hubby and family, I have a few girlfriends that I know would be there for me..... I count myself very blessed that way. I would be there for them, too.
Great thoughts Rich.
