Hello I'm Rich Brown and this is my personal website and blog. I'm just your simple, average, down to earth, professional, out gay man and aspiring circuit boy, living in Phoenix, Arizona with a few things to say while trying to find my place among all the scary, conservative, religious nuts in this sick and twisted world.

Back from Delaware
Yes it's true I'm back from the east. I got in early this morning. My flight left Philadelphia just in time as I heard about 30 minutes after I left the airport was shut down due to fog. I don't miss being back east. My trip was good, very productive to say the least. I did get a chance to drive up to Pennsylvania and spend one of the evenings with my Aunt & Uncle and have dinner with them. It was nice to see my cousins and their kids again. It's always strange for me to return back to the area where I grew up because I can't help to look around and think this is where I'm from, this is my family and this is the culture that influenced the first 18 years of my life. I got a little introspective for a day or two, it was wierd. The rest of my nights were spent in the hotel room doing some work and getting a little extra rest. I almost forgot how cold it gets back there. When I walked out of the office each night I was freezing as the damp, brisk, cold air enveloped my hands and face. It was 75 here in Phoenix today. I'm glad to be home. Cheers.
Given that I'm from Pennsylvania, we always called Delaware the "armpit of the USA". Now, some people will say that it's New Jersey - but I stick with Delaware. HA! Glad you are home safe and sound. I just got back myself from a little trip to Key West, South Beach and Philly, and I know what you mean about being glad to get back home - and the whole weird "going back to where you came from" syndrome. After a long time and many visits back to PA I'm finally gaining some perspective on the place and the influence it had on me. I love the vibe of the metro Northeast and people who actually say what they think, and I miss that sometimes. It's also the sense of history there - even Seattles' oldest buildings and such seem to be too "new" generally. One of my favorite places to eat in Philly is in a building that's 205 years old and is just beautiful. Anyhoo - welcome back, Rich!
