Hello I'm Rich Brown and this is my personal website and blog. Why Are People So Miserable? Lighten Up & Enjoy Life!
Have you ever wondered why people are so miserable sometimes. Perhaps miserable isn't exactly the correct word here, maybe bitter, jaded or negative would better words to describe the situation I'm referring too.
I bring this up because I'm a member of a few different discussion boards and it seems like all people are content on doing is bitching about everything. The most prominent example of this is on the Circuit Party Insanity group I belong too. It seems like it's a rare occasion when someone actually has something useful or positive to say. Most of the time people are commenting about why they hate this DJ or why this party was shitty or why they don't go to this event, or whatever. It's frankly annoying because it seems that the overwhelming number of overly bitter and negative people have a much stronger voice then the rest. Perhaps it's just that the rest don't care, I'm not really sure.
I guess I bring this up for a few reasons. First and foremost, life is just way too short to be miserable all the time. When someone constantly has only negative things to say regarding just about everything they encounter, that person really limits the possibilities for having a unique & pleasurable experience. I believe if you go into situations with an open mind, and no pre-conceived notions of how things will turn out, you completely open yourself up to a world of new experiences that you may have never before thought possible.
In the Circuit Party community for example, instead of bitching about a particular mainstream DJ and how terrible you think they may be, why not try to experience the situation from another point of view. Why not try to understand the 'story' this DJ brings to the dance floor, feel the energy of the people around you, and just go with the flow. Sure it might not be your favorite song, or preferred type of music, but going into the situation with an open mind and the desire for a new experience, you may just find yourself surprised in the end. If you go into the situation with a negative attitude from the start, then you are bound to have a miserable time without even giving it a chance in the first place.
I think if people would just open themselves up, stop being so bitter and negative about things, and try to experience everything possible, the world would be a much better place. It's the negativity all around us in this world that's a total buzz kill for the rest of us who choose to live life and actually try our best to even enjoy it. Don't you think life is too short to be miserable?
Yes I agree with you on this one Rich. I know exactly what you mean, and being around constantly negative people can actually be a huge drain on you too!

I couldn't agree with you more. I recently found out about one of my friend's boyfriend not liking me. But I think it's just plain old fashioned jealousy. I set out to do what I do with an open mind and a positive outlook, he on the other hand does not. SO get bitter and resnt me? WHATEVER! You're only hurting yourself more by carrying that attitude and trying to project your negativity onto me. Quite simply put; if you're negative, nothing good is going to happen and you will just attract other negativity.
