Hello I'm Rich Brown and this is my personal website and blog. This Is Why I Don't Like Amusement Park Rides ...
The headlines read ...
Six Flags closes ride after freak accident in Kentucky Teen girl's feet sliced off while riding roller coaster in Louisville ______________________________ headline & excerpt from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Parks close thrill rides after girl loses legs Six Flags and another company shut down eight more thrill rides Friday around the country after a teenage girl had her feet chopped off at the ankle on a Superman Tower of Power. ______________________________ headline & excerpt from USA Today
So call me a coward but after hearing about things like this it just reaffirms my fears to why I don't like amusement parks and refuse to go on most amusement park rides. I will gladly always offer to be the "purse holder" and sit at the bar below while all my friends go on these stupid rides because in the end, I happen to like my feet. I read about episodes like this happening and it just triggers my biggest fear over going on these rides.
I read a comment from a Six Flags spokesman who said "Millions of people have safely ridden this ride in our parks" Well it certainly may have been a one in a million, freak accident, but tell that to the girl who just had her feet sliced off as I'm sure she's going to feel differently. Sad, very sad.
