Hello I'm Rich Brown and this is my personal website and blog. I'm just your simple, average, down to earth, professional, out gay man and aspiring circuit boy, living in Phoenix, Arizona with a few things to say while trying to find my place among all the scary, conservative, religious nuts in this sick and twisted world.

Out To Burn & Charlies
Like most Saturday evenings, Justin and I got ready around 9 and headed downtown to grab a few drinks.
We started out at Amsterdam getting there around 9:30. We walked into the bar, grabbed our usual Three Olives Cherry Vodka with 7-up and then looked around. For a place where Saturday nights used to be packed, it was dead. There were maybe 10 people in the bar. Justin and I quickly finished our drinks and headed out. It was a quick visit, but enough to make us realize why we had not stopped at Amsterdam on a Saturday night in months. Apparently no one else is going there either which is surprising because the last time we were there on a Friday night a few weeks back, it was pretty busy. I guess Amsterdam has lost their Saturday night touch in favor of Burn.
We hopped in the car and then down to Burn. We walked into Burn a few minutes before 10 and as expected there was no one in the bar except for the bartenders. Burn usually doesn't pick up until around 11:30 - 12:00. For some reason the Gay's really don't like to come out early anymore, but right around midnight the place will be jam packed.
As expected the bar started to pick up and was pretty busy by midnight, but for some reason we just weren't really feeling it. Maybe it was because Jerry was gone for the weekend with his parents, maybe because we were just tired, I don't know. It was great to see Angela and David and also talk to the bar staff and photographer, but by about 1 we were ready to head out. We decided to stop by Charlies before heading home to see what the crowd was like. We stayed long enough at Charlies to have one beer before we headed out the door and back home.
I don't know anymore, I'm really starting to get bored with the Phoenix bar scene and the people. It's the same people, the same places every weekend. While I do love going to Burn, and I still think it's a great place, I'm certainly ready for my trip to San Diego this weekend because I'm definitely need of a change of scenery for at least one weekend.
Today was spent by Justin and hanging out next to the pool during the afternoon and then catching up on some television programming this evening. It's been a relaxing and mellow weekend, one that I've much needed. I'm looking forward to getting caught up on some work this week and then heading out to San Diego on Thursday night. Cheers.
