Hello I'm Rich Brown and this is my personal website and blog. I'm just your simple, average, down to earth, professional, out gay man and aspiring circuit boy, living in Phoenix, Arizona with a few things to say while trying to find my place among all the scary, conservative, religious nuts in this sick and twisted world.

Happy 7th Anniversary
Yes it's true, Justin and I have finally hit 7 years together today. Hard to believe it's been that long already because it still seems like just yesterday that we met. I think I say the same thing every year, so I guess that's a good thing right?

It's been a great year, full of new adventures and learning more about each other then ever before. Relationships all have their ups and downs including ours, but that's what keeps it interesting. In the end we make each other laugh and I simply couldn't imagine my life without Justin. Everyone always asks us what's the secret. We both say the same thing ... honesty, communication, and unconditional love. When you have those 3 things, everything else is a piece of cake.

I never mentioned it yet, but I finally broke down and gave Justin a ring this year. It was on the cruise in October. I told him how much he meant to me and that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. I had told my friends I was planning on doing it, but meant for it to be a private event. I was walking with Justin along the top of the ship and asked him to stop for a second and stand with me on the glass floor at the very spot where you could look down from the 11 deck all the way down to the bottom of the atrium. It was somewhat fitting that Philip just happened to be walking by and saw what was going on and quietly walked in and stood behind us so he could watch me proclaim my love and hand Justin the rings. Philip was there pretty much from the beginnings of our relationship and managed to be there when I gave him the ring too. We turned around and saw him sitting there, we all started to laugh. Fate at it's finest.
My friends have since asked me what it means to us to have exchanged rings. I told them we really would like to have a ceremony but wanted it to mean something and probably were not going to do so until it actually has some legal binding in the United States. Who knows maybe we'll give in and just go to Canada and actually get legally married there so we can get that neat little piece of paper, but until then, the exchange of rings between Justin and I is a symbol of our love for each other and our commitment to each other to spend our lives together.

Happy Anniversary Rich and Justin!
And congrats on the ring exchange, that must have been such a special moment. It's no surprise to you I'm sure, but I DO think you should come up here and finally get married! :-)
