Richard's 40th Birthday Party Weekend

You would think that I would have realized long ago that whenever I anticipate having a nice peaceful weekend, that typically means it's going to be another jam packed party weekend.
I received two calls on Friday afternoon, the first from Cody telling me that Justin and I better plan on showing up to Richard's 40th birthday party on Saturday & Sunday. "Excuse me?", I replied to Cody when he first brought it up. "So is this party on Saturday or Sunday?" I said. Cody was quick to reply "Wellllll both, you know how it goes ... Josh is on his way in from Los Angeles now for the weekend. Richard told him to call you guys and let you know." Josh called me about 20 minutes later to fill me in on the details. It was now perfectly clear how the weekend was about go down. "Be there by 9, can't wait to see you guys!" Josh said before hanging up.
Well that's about how our weekends have been as of late. Birthday parties, house parties, pool parties, whatever excuse for a party we have now usually turns into a full weekend event among our circles of friends.
The festivities began promptly at Richard's house on Saturday evening at 8 PM, however being fashionably late, Justin and I arrived shortly before 9 PM. Nearly everyone else had just gotten there, and it was nice to see so many familiar faces. Regretfully I forgot my camera, but I know some people took photos, so hopefully I'l be able to scrounge up some copies. I won't go into too many details of the evening except that Richard certainly knows how to throw a party, even if it is his own birthday party, and we had a fabulous time hanging out with friends as well as meeting new people. We decided to call it a night around 4 AM even though the party was still in full swing. We gave Cody a ride home end then headed home to bed ourselves to catch a few hours of sleep.
Around noon the phone rang and it was Cody calling ... "Wake up Bitches it's 12:00 and Todd and I want to have dinner with you guys tonight, we're thinking about 4-ish at Todd's, barbecue by the pool, he wants to cook pork chops or something, call me when you get this." I think I finally pulled myself out of bed around 1 PM, after all Sunday's are for is sleeping in right? I called Cody back to discuss plans for the evening. Justin eventually got up around 3 PM, since he can always sleep several hours longer then I can. I asked him what he wanted to do, he said pool and dinner sounded good. Shortly after that I received a call from Cody again saying they were going to head over to Richards to say goodbye to Josh before heading to Todd's place. I suggested we would stop by as well and meet them at Richards and take it from there. Everyone agreed.
After sitting on the freeway for nearly an hour because of a car accident we finally made it to Richard's around 5 PM. Of course I wasn't surprised to see that the party was still going from the night before. Many of the same friends had remained, some had left and returned, but one thing was for sure, none of us were going anywhere for the rest of the evening. Fortunately I did remember to bring my camera this time.

We were all having such a great time, the weather was beautiful, the pool water was warm and the drinks were flowing. At one point in the evening Cody walks over to me with a big smile on his face and says "so Todd and I are official now." I knew he was excited based on the conversation him and I had the night before about how he was feeling. About 5 minutes later Todd walked over with a big smile on his face, put his arm around me and said "Cody just asked me if to be his boyfriend, he's so damn cute." I couldn't help to smile. They clicked from the minute I introduced them to each other on Todd's birthday at Amsterdam. What they both didn't know about each other until tonight was that every time one would walk away the other would turn to us say "Damn he's so hot!" Justin and I would smile to each other, knowing what was happening. What a great way to start things off. They're both great guys and we love spending time with them, so I hope things work out for them.
Towards the middle of the evening Todd, Cody, Justin & I ended up standing in the hallway talking and playing around with the camera taking random photos. We were having a bunch of fun just being silly and laughing at each other. Things got a bit steamy between them and I flipped the camera switch to black & white, and snapped this shot ...
So yes, thats how the weekend went down. It was a fun evening at Richard's house. We did a ton of talking, even more laughing, a little dancing and just a great time hanging out with friends. The night eventually came to an end, some people crashed, and some people went home. Richard is very accommodating like that, stay or leave it's your choice. Justin and packed up and headed home since we both had to work in the morning. I love weekends where we get to spend time with a great group of guys just hanging out, having fun and getting to know each other better.
Many thanks to Richard for accommodating a bunch of lushes at his house for nearly the entire weekend. We had a blast! Next up ... Splash Bash this Weekend. Cheers!
Love it! Wow all the pictures turned out fabulous. Can't wait for the future crazy nights/days with you and Justin, and the not so crazy days. THis weekend is gonna be great... Splash Bash!
