My Blog: Living My Life Out Loud
Hello I'm Rich Brown and this is my personal website and blog. I'm just your simple, average, down to earth, professional, out gay man and aspiring circuit boy, living in Phoenix, Arizona with a few things to say while trying to find my place among all the scary, conservative, religious nuts in this sick and twisted world.

Looking Forward To The Weekend
@HOME. Wow I haven't posted for a while. That usually seems to be the case for me in the summer, just too much going on to sit in front of the computer. Everything's been really hectic around here between work and home. I've been extrordinarily busy at work and Justin and I have been doing a lot of work around the house as well. I don't really have anything interesting to post at this point. I'm just looking forward to a quiet weekend where I can relax and catch up on my reading. Cheers!

Looks Like Rain
@HOME. It appears as though it may rain outside in a few minutes. Figures since I've put off cutting the grass, which has become a small jungle in my yard, until today. I guess it's going to have to wait until later this week.

So last night was a lot of fun. It was nice to hang out with the Meury's, and Anthony. It was also quite fab to run into Darin because let me tell you, that gal is just one funny bitch. Although, to my dismay, he refuses to get a cell phone because he dosen't want to be contacted ... oh whatever Miss Nineteen Seventy, it's time to get with the times honey. You should feel priviledged that we WANT to contat you, that's what I'm saying sister.

Today is turning out to be a pretty mellow day. I've just been sitting here catching up on my Blog reading. I have to say that one of the blogs that I really LOVE is Chad Fox's Blog, Stop Touching My Food. Darin and I were talking about it last night. Chad Fox always has some great stories and incredible photos from around town in San Francisco which bring back a bunch of memories from when Justin and I were living there. I love our house & friends, and I'm really starting to enjoy being in Phoenix again, but sometimes I do miss San Francisco.

Ok so in the middle of writing this post I just had a 'neighbor' from 3 houses down come over to tell me that the bass on our music was pounding his house yesterday and that also I should be aware that our dog and the neighbors dog were barking the other night until 1am and kept him up all night. Boo fucking hoo. Whatever mary, get over it because #1, the music wasn't that loud and #2, Berg isn't outside late at night. My suggestion is to call the police next time you have a problem because otherwise you can just fuck off. I can't imagine how someone 3 houses down could be bothered, but yet the neighbors on each side of me always say we don't bother them at all. Who knows maybe the old geezer got a new supersonic hearing aide this week. I think maybe he should just turn down his hearing aide insteading of coming over here to complain. Now I'm going to have to worry about the music every time we hang out at the pool.

Alright I'm off to eat and boob tube it for a while. Cheers!

Day in the Pool, Night in the Bars
@HOME. Since I was up all night working on some web design projects that needed to get done, namely the Red Fork Hospitality Website, Justin and I finally strolled our tired asses out of bed at around 2 PM. The Meury's showed up around 3 PM to begin the day's festivities. We broke out the ice chest, the limes, the case of Corona and headed into the pool for the afternoon.

Extreme Makover. Left, Andrea before ... Right, Andrea after. God doesn't she look even more beautiful now then ever before?

So the four of us spent the entire afternoon talking, laughing and drinking in the pool. I think we finished off a 1/2 case of Corona and broke into the case of Becks and Sam Adams. Let me remind you that no self-respecting gay household would be without at least 2 spare back-up cases of beer.

So after a long afternoon of drinking in the pool we did what any drunk group of friends would ... We went out! Woo Hoo! We started out at Amsterdam where apparently they were having a party at one corner of the bar, which I might add we didn't find out until we sat down on the leather couch where no one was sitting. After some dork and a few of his fag hags gave us the glare of death, the dork immediatly ran over with a reservation sign to hold in front of us.

"Are you part of the party?" he said all waving the sign at us.

I'm serious ... if it's your party wouldn't you know if we were in it or not. Anyway, we of course tried to play it cool and act like we didn't see the empty bottle of champaign and didn't know what the hell he was talking about, since we really didn't.

He wiggled the sign again and said "this area is reserved for a private party"

Thus I guess we were to assume we weren't allowed to sit there. But I mean seriously ... WTF ... the couch was empty, the champaign bottle was empty and how could we see the reservation sign since he had the death grip on it. Oh well, whatever bitches have your little gay party. We went outside.

Here we are on the couch before we got kicked off, and here we are outside afterwards.

Our usual outside bartender, Brian, was taking care of our every need. Before you knew it we turned around and our good friend PB Loco Anthony had decided to show up and meet us. He was at the Alanis concert earlier but had to haul Keith #2's ass home first before he came out to meet us. Don't you hate that when your friends make you drive their ass home because they don't want to go out drinking. I mean seriously, who dosen't want to go out drinking? I just couldn't imagine.

Speaking of drinking, I had a few sips of Justin and Andrea's drinks, but I decided to stop drinking because after about 1/2 a case of beer earlier in the day and almost passing out on the living room floor before going out, I felt it was wise to take a break for a while.

So following a few drinks at Amsterdam, we headed over to Charlie's. Suprise, Suprise. So after saying hello to some friends at the front of the bar we headed to the back to hang out on the outside patio in our usual spot. All of a sudden from the corner of my eye I saw this guy walking up to us whom I didn't recognize. In a quick instant I though, oh he's cute why's he coming over here ... so I turned around thinking who the hell is this ...

"OH ... Hi Darin!"

I've never actually saw him with his glasses on but he pulled it off nicely. I think guys with glasses are hot, but I digress here. Ok so anyway, Darin was there with his cute little friend Donny, whom I might add I've never met in person but have chatted with online a few times before, and have read about in Darin's blog. Also, one of Justin's co-workers, Tony and his friend stopped over to say hello and make us all wonder what it was in which he was a pro. One can only wonder.

Donny and Darin, and Justin's co-worker Tony (Black T-Shirt) with a friend.

The boys ... we're only missing Kevin here! A cute pic of Donny, Mark & Andrea.

So then behind us a fight started when this kid decided to hit this girl in the face and give her a nose bleed. His friends came over and her friends came over, everyone started screaming, oh the drama. Go home people, this is a gay bar for gods sake. We don't do these things here. I wanted to go over and take some photos of the little event, but opted not too. I don't know what happend to them as I turned around and they were all headed to the front of the bar, maybe to go outside and duke it out, who knows.

So once again it was another fun filled day and exciting evening out on the Phoenix scene with a good time had by all. And last but not least my gentle readers, I know that you may not be ready to handle this one, but I just had to include it anyway. If you have a weak stomach you may want to close the browser before you get to this next photo because let me tell you my little peter eaters, it's not a pretty sight at all. Put the kids to bed, turn off the lights and scroll down to view this horrific sight ...

That's Darin trying to woo the women over at the bar with a display of his skilled tounge abilities. Thank's Darin for the lovely visual, that's hot! Ta Ta for now kiddies.

Another One of Tommy
@HOME. Ok so Tommy didn't win the underwear contest, however Andrea, Justin and I all agree that he's a pretty damn hot straight boy. I asked him at Amsterdam on Thursday night if he won and in his words "No some fucking dork won ..." Anyway, I found another pic of him the other day, so here, I'll post both underwear pics here for my readers enjoyment.

You can find Tommy bartending most nights at Amsterdam Bar in Phoenix. Cheers!

Long Night
@HOME. Justin and I didn't do too much tonight. We headed over to the mall to walk around for a bit and then back home. Nothing really interesting to report. I was up most of the night doing some web design work that I had to get done so that's about it. We're planning on hanging out with Mark and Andrea by our pool tomorrow and then going out for our usual Saturday night escapades. I'm sure I'll have much more to post tomorrow. Cheers!

Body Positive Event and Amsterdam
@HOME. Tonight Justin, Andrea, Mark and I went to the Body Positive AIDS fundraiser at the Chandler Mercedes dealership. There were guest chefs and restaurants from all over Phoenix setup and you could sample food from each. The food was incredible and there was a great turnout of people.

Overall the event was a tad hoity toity, but we had a great time and decided this is the life we all deserved to be living. Oh yeah need I mention there were also alot of other gay people there as well. Woo hoo, It's always nice to hob knob with the A gays once and a while.

After the event we headed over to Amsterdam for a few extra drinks and as luck would have it there was also a drag show going on.

We ran into a bunch of people at Amsterdam ...

Gilbert and Jamie, and the ever fabulous Miss Anita Buffet.

Stacy (just became a grandpa) and the ever hot Tommy, the Amsterdam Bartenders.

A few roudy Canadian boys from Montreal, and the cute Amsterdam Cocktail Waiter.

Andrea got a little rowdy with Anita Buffet so Anita decided to show Andrea who's boss in that place. We pretty much closed the bar and headed back to our place. Justin quickly decided to go to bed, but the rest of us thought it was a great idea to stay up longer and drink some more. I think I headed to bed around 4 AM. Cheers.

My Friends The Models
@HOME. Ok well Mark & Andrea are home from Hawaii and I really haven't gotten a chance to talk to them much about their trip since we were all tired this morning. Anyway, Mark and Andrea e-mailed me some photos from the trip and this pic is such an awsome one of them that I just had to post it.

Don't they just look like models? God they are so hot in the picture. I'm so fortunate to have such good looking friends. Cheers!

Off To Los Angeles Without A Goodbye
@HOME. Kevin you bitch, thanks for calling and letting us know you were leaving for Los Angeles on Friday. I see how it is ... just love us and leave us. Anyways, the rumor is that you'll be back in a few months??? I suppose that may be true if you don't get discovered first. Have fun, be safe and say hello to Hal Sparks for me. :-P

Amsterdam and Charlie's
@HOME. Another typical Saturday night in Phoenix, first to Amsterdam and then up to Charlie's. We are so predictable these days. We met up with Sam and Tyler at Amsterdam and hung out for a few drinks before heading up to Charlie's. Tyler and Sam had to head home right after Amsterdam since Tyler had to be up at 7am for work in the morning. Poor boy.

Justin and I headed up to Charlie's where we ran into an old friend Juan, who was just a tad bit drunk. We also ran into our friend and co-worker Don (or Ivana as you my remember from this post) and his new beau Brian, along with one of Brian's cute friends from Ohio.

Tyler and his new haircutSam
Tyler says .. "Tastes like chicken!"Juan showing excitement

We hung out at Charlie's until around 3:30 AM and then headed over to Genny's (the Gay Denny's on 7th & Camelback) for a bite to eat. We actually decided to hang out for a bit because Mark and Andrea were getting back into town from 2 weeks in Hawaii on a red-eye flight, and we promised them we would pick them up at 5:30 AM so we had some time to kill. After finishing up some food at Genny's we headed home and decided to take Zach and Koda back over to Mark and Andrea's house and get some things back to shape for them like turning on the hose to fill up the pool which was a tad low.

Around 5:30 AM we headed up to the airport to pick them up. Mark and Andrea made it home alright and with many presents for us in hand. They are such sweet friends. I'm glad they're back, we missed them. Well I'm off to bed to get some sleep and screw up my schedule for the rest of the week. Cheers!

Happy 4th of July from Roscoes
@HOME. Justin and I headed out to Roscoe's tonight to catch up with Kevin & Darin for some free burgers, drinks and to watch the fireworks at Indian School Steel Park. While we were there we ran into Tyler, and a few other people as shown in the photos below. I actually thought I pulled a muscle in my back this afternoon, but I think it was just my liver shutting down. Oh well, like my friend Steve said to me one time ... "I'm going to use and abuse this body while I can because it's not going to do me any good while I'm going ... " I have to say I completely agree with him.

Anyway, the fireworks were probably some of the best that I've ever seen and we had a front row seat on the back of Tyler's truck in the parking lot. So it was a good night overall. I'm not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow however my liver is looking forward to the week off.

The Day After at Roscoe's on 7th
@HOME. Let's just say that after last night, Justin and I slept in today. I probably would have stayed in bed longer, however I opened my eyes for a second to look at the clock and in anticipation of being fed, the puppies began to celebrate in and on the bed. Justin and I spent most of the day recuperating before deciding that we really owe it to our liver to make it suffer this weekend and go out yet another night drinking. Besides, what's a successful three day weekend without the potential for alcohol induced liver failure anyway?

We cooked up some chicken on the barbie, packed the kiddies in the car (ok maybe not) and headed up to Roscoe's on 7th street. Roscoe's is a wanna be gay sports bar and grill. I'm not so sure about the grill part, as I've heard rumors that there is some sort of food product served here but that's only in the day time so we wouldn't know because lord knows my little turnips, that we certainly do not frequent the homosexual establishments during the day (at least that I'll ever admit anyway!)

We met up with Kevin and Darin at Roscoe's and also ran into Chris, an old, old, old friend from the good old days back when I was a trampolina (oh some things just don't change do they?) I've been going camera crazy lately and I think by the end of the evening everyone was tired of the camera and I was dubbed the gay-paparazzi.

Well my little nose pickers, that's all I have for this evening. The two hours we had at Roscoe's was quite the exciting time of drinking, photos and meeting new friends. Tomorrow we'll be heading back to Roscoe's around 4 PM to eat, drink, punish our lives some more and watch the city fireworks. (Roscoe's has the perfect view of Indian School Park where the fireworks show will be held). My liver is kindly requesting that I have some water and give it a few hours before starting all over again. Whoever said that all the British do is drink, have obviously not been out with the gays of America yet. Happy 4th of July!

Post-Pool Party Bliss at Charlie's
@HOME. Ok so this is the continuance of our evening from my last posting about the pool-party. Everyone split up after the pool party to go to their respective places, shower and get cleaned up to go out with the exception of Darin, who was tired and decided to adjourn home to his bed instead. John and Andrew stayed with us at the house to shower and get ready since John's house was too far away, and Andrew didn't want to drive all the was back to his Grandfathers where he was staying. Jamie and Kevin went back to Kevin's place to clean up so that Jamie could borrow some of Kevin's clothes and not have to go back up to Andrew's Grandfathers as well. After everyone was ready we stopped to pick up Kevin and Jamie and then headed up to Charlie's, our usual Saturday night destination, where it was packed at always. While at Charlie's we also ran into our friends Lance (Red Shirt) and Matt (White Polo). Here are a few of the photos from our evening at Charlie's.

So at Charlie's they play country music until around 2 AM when it switches over to a dance club and a whole different litter of puppies arrives. Because let me tell you my little garden flowers, it's not always a pretty sight at Charlie's before mid-night. Now before all you jean wearing, line dancin, two steppin, cowboys send me some hate me, let me also say that there indeed are some hot cowboys there. So if you are perhaps one of the not-so-hot people wearing your best 80's skin tight, see through, lace shirt, well then just pretend I'm not talking about you here, mmmm kay?

Anywhodilly, by the time 2 AM rolled around, it seemed even busier then it was when we got there at 11 PM and we were all pretty much 2 sheets to the wind. I don't think any of us could have handled another drink at this point. We collectively decided to head over to the 5 & Diner and have a fabulous drunken meal. Just what every body conscious gay boy needs at 2 AM. Well I did manage to snap a few photos of us at the table, but let me tell you my little blueberry's, the rest of the people were not a pretty sight there. These people that showed up looked like a cross between Vampire meets American Bandstand and they were not only a sore sight but as loud and obnxious as one could stand. I could barely stomach the hour wait it took for us to finally get our late night grease treats. We really should have went out to the Gay Denny's to be with our peeps, but it's not usually very pretty there at 2 AM with the lights on either.

The only real reeding part of the night was the fact that our cute little waiter, Peter, was a complete and utter ditz, and it gave us something to make fun of while we waited. Well chicken dumplings, here are the last round of my photo montage from Saturday evening.

Justin's thinking ... "Damn I'm hungry and drunk"Kevin's thinking ... "Jamie is sooo hot"
Andrew's wondering were he is at this pointDamn isn't this boy just HOT..HOT..HOT!
Jamie's thinking ... "Bitch who are you talking too?"Kevin's like ... "ooh you did not just hit me"

We left 5 & Diner at 4 AM, dropped the boys off and then headed home to get some sleep. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did and we're all looking forward to more parties together this summer. Cheers!

Saturday Pool Party
@HOME. Alright kids are you sitting down because this one is going to knock your socks off. Last night at Amsterdam we decided to invite everyone over on Saturday just to chill out by the pool, nothing fancy, not an official party or anything. Well, let me tell you something my little beanie babies, I know that from past experience, it's always the small, unofficial get-togethers that spin way out of control and the next thing you know your friends clothes are littering the neighbor's yard and someone's having sex in your pool. Trust me on this one kiddies.

Any-who-dilly, before I go all getting into all the fabulous, whore-riffic details lets start at the beginning. Things started off fairly tame with Kevin the first to arrive followed by my friend John. We weren't really sure if anyone else was actually going to come over or not and couldn't figure out what happened to Darin since he 'said' he was going to be here at 2 PM. So we did the only responsible thing we could, we broke out the alcohol and mixed up some Martini's while we waited. Eventually Andrew and Jamie were the next to arrive followed by all call from Darin saying he accidentally fell asleep and would be right over. Darin arrived and we all headed to the pool.

The Players
Let me take a moment to introduce to our stars for today's Blog entry. The only person not pictured here is myself and that's because #1 - someone has to take the photos, and #2 - nobody, and I do mean nobody, touches my new camera drunk and near the pool.

Pool Party Part 1 - Margarita-ville
The pool water temperature was a perfect 85 degrees, it was 6pm and the air temperature was just around 110 degrees outside. It was the perfect day and weather to break out the Margarita mix and cook up a few pitchers of some strong ass margaritas. Nothing like margaritas, a pool and a group of fun gay boys.

Hi Darin & Kevin

Hi Kevin & Jamie

Berg wonders why there are only boys hereMmmm ... cute boys in the pool
Kevin, please don't pee in the poolSmile for the camera pumpkin

Doesn't the water look refreshing?

Mmmm, cute boys in the pool

Kevin ... Please put down the cup and move away from the cute boy!

A little love connection between John and Andrew?

We ended up firing up the barbie and cookig up some chicken and burgers for dinner. I think it was probably a good thing we ate because by this time we had already gone through 4 pitchers of Margaritas.

Pool Party Part 2 - The Sun Sets
As well all know bad things lurk in the dark. Well in this case bad things were lurking around in my pool. John and Andrew were busy doing, well, I don't know exactly what they were doing. The rest of the boys ended up with their swim trunks spread out all over the yard somewhere. There were hot naked bodies everywhere. Oy Vey, I hope my Mormon neighbors weren't looking over the fence tonight.

Um where are his hands?Wait ... hold I have to go pee-pee
OMG ... where is everyone's bathing suit?Who's bathing suit is that on the ledge?
Kevin, where's your bathing suit?Oh, there's your bathing suit.

Eventually everyone was pretty well withered from being in the pool all night so one by one the boys hopped their cute little naked butts out of the pull and got dressed.

Smile for the camera Justin ...

The entire gang ... wait, where are Andrew and John? The guest bedroom perhaps? Hmmm...

Jamie, Kevin & JustinDarin, Jamie, Kevin & Justin

By the time we got out of the pool it was only around 10 PM and we weren't ready to call it a night, so it was decided to get showered and head on up to Charlie's to hang out, have a few more drinks and have some fun. I'll post more from the Charlie's trek later, but all said, the non-planned pool party was a hit with everyone. We had a great time hanging out and laughing at each other and just enjoying the day.

Matching Ringer Muscle Shirt Day
@HOME. Justin and I have declared June 2nd to be matching, ringer, muscle t-shirt day.

First Friday at Amsterdam
@HOME. Since it's a 3-day weekend for us, Justin and I decided to head on over to Amsterdam and have a few drinks. Downtown Phoenix around Amsterdam was crowded because it was 'First Friday' which is the 1st Friday of every month when they hold the local Art Gallery walks and everything is open late. We grabbed a drink from our favorite bartender Brian (he's such a cute little guy) and then ran into Kevin, Darin and a few other new friends including Andrew and Jamie, who were visiting from Sacramento for the weekend.

Andrew (Black/White Stripes) and Jamie (Orange/White Stripes) are are best friends and in town tring to decide if they want to buy a house here and move to Phoenix. Andrew's Grandfather currently lives here, but this was Jamie's first trip out. We tried to convince them how great Phoenix was and why they should move here. They were out house shopping all day and were taking the evening to hang out with us at Amsterdam.

We also ran into Steve and Matt hanging out in the corner by the window. When steve went to get drinks, Darin took a photo of Kevin, Me, Matt and Justin getting all shitty. Following our drinking binge at Amsterdam, Kevin invited us to walk over to his pad for some more drinks (As if we hadn't already had enough to drink.)

We said goodbye to our favorite Amsterdam door woman and headed out. On the way there, Justin and Darin decided to stop and puke on the sidewalk in front of me. (Ok no not really but still ... )

At Kevin's house he decided to break out the good stuff and make us a drink. Only the best liquor for Kevin's friends. Kevin then took Andrew back into his room where he showed him his porn stash and naked photos of Darin.

We all hung out for a little while, before saying our goodbyes an heading home around 3 AM.

Yet another lovely night out in Phoenix. Cheers!
