My New Toy ... A Palm Treo 700wx for Sprint
|
The package finally arrived yesterday. Inside it, two brand new Palm Treo 700wx phones for both Justin and I.
While a full-fledged PDA phone is new to Justin who is using it to replace his current Samsung Mobile Phone, I'm not a stranger to PDA Mobile Phones. I'm using the Treo 700wx to replace my current PDA Mobile Phone which happens to be a Palm Treo 650 for Sprint. The only downside to the Treo 650 and the reason why I wanted to upgrade so quickly was that the 650 wasn't capable of using the new EVDO highspeed mobile network, and it has a Linux based PalmOS. I've been wanting to try switching to Windows Based PocketPC OS for some time now, which is why I'm switching to the 700wx as it comes loaded with Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC for Phones.
My PDA Mobile Phone is pretty much my life line these days. Without the integrated calendar notifying me of daily meetings, my contact list at my fingertips, and accessibility to text messaging and e-mail I would simply be lost. So while many go for the sleek new thin razor mobile phones I can better appreciate a phone that acts more like a palmtop computer.
My first impressions of the Palm Treo 700wx are pretty good. After having been a loyal PalmOS user for the past 6 years I've found some of the Windows Mobile 5.0 features better then it's PalmOS counterpart, but also I've notice some basic things missing. I do feel that the PalmOS devices were more suited to one handed use, and I've found with the 700wx, it's sometimes necessary to use both hands or spend more time looking at the screen. While I love the way the contact list and searching features are setup, I do miss the threaded SMS of the Treo 650. I'm excited about the tight integration with Outlook and Microsoft Office with the 700wx and I'm thrilled to be able to sync my calendar with my work laptop and then sync my contacts and e-mail with my personal PC. In that respect it's much better then the PalmOS which always had trouble with multiple PC Sync'ing.
I can't quite pinpoint everything that's different, but what surprises me is that I would have thought that the Windows Mobile OS would have included almost all of the PalmOS functionality and features. Maybe a third party simply needs to assess the best features of each product and compile a list so that it can be integrated into one consolidated product. I guess it really just comes down to just a matter of user preference over anything else.
I'm impressed with the overall speed of the internet connections, and a nice unexpected feature is that when it's connected via USB cable to one of the computers, it actually uses the attached internet connection for applications and internet tasks rather then connecting to the mobile network.
I guess it's going to take me a little time to get used to it, but as with all things, I'm not too overly resistant to change. I can appreciate new technology and am looking forward to everything this phone has to offer. Cheers.

Two Weeks to Black & Blue 2006 in Montreal
|
WARNING! Another shameless self-photo post ahead. In exactly two weeks to the day I'll be headed out to the first party of the 2006 Black & Blue week long event in Montreal, Canada. Justin and I have both been working hard since our last party, and haven't taken a break from our workouts. Here are a few of my latest photos ...

Now while my Mother mistakenly seems to think I'm anorexic, I'm actually in the best shape I've ever been in my life. My chest is bigger, my arms are bigger and I'm finally starting to cut that last little bit of stubborn fat that's been refusing to budge from my midsection

I was talking to a someone the other night and he said to me "Have you looked at yourself in the mirror recently, you're f**king hot" I have to admit it was really nice to get a comment like that. While I think all this working out has been great and I've very excited about how I look, the most important part to me is how I feel, and for the record, I feel absolutely amazing.
I'm most looking forward to Black & Blue because I'm going to be able to hang out with my friends again. This is going to our furthest and longest trip together, so hopefully we don't leave Montreal sick of each other. Bernard, Philip, Tony, Justin and I will be cramming ourselves into a room at the Delta Hotel Montreal, the official host hotel of the week. It should be an amazing experience and I'm looking forward to taking plenty of photos. Alright, well I'm off to the gym. Cheers!Labels: Black and Blue, Circuit Party

Vote No On Arizona Prop 107 ... Just Do It!
|

Currently cities such as Phoenix, Tucson, Scottsdale and Tempe offer domestic partnership benefits as do businesses such as Intel and Chase. The "Protect Marriage Arizona" Amendment will take away these benefits which are vital to children, families and seniors throughout the state. That is why leaders such as Mayor Phil Gordon of Phoenix and Mayor Bob Walkup of Tucson, among many others, have joined to fight the initiative.
Over 100,000 Arizonans could lose their health insurance benefits, hospital visitations, the power to make decisions for loved ones in the case of an emergency and inheritance rights if the amendment passes.
Under the guise of "protecting marriage" this amendment could take away unmarried Arizonans' right to file domestic violence charges or to secure a restraining order against their partner. This dangerous amendment is backed and financed by extreme groups. The "Protect Marriage Arizona" Amendment will not change state law. Same-sex marriage is already against state law. The "Protect Marriage Arizona" Amendment is the anti-domestic partner benefits initiative and it goes TOO FAR and takes away rights of many couples - regardless of their sexual orientation. Please Vote No in November so that we can celebrate victory together.

Friday Night in Phoenix Arizona
|
So those of you who have been reading my blog long enough you should well know by now that the weekend bar circuit in Phoenix consists of usually Amsterdam and then Charlie's. It's not always that routine, but more then likely ends up that way, for us at least.
Last night Justin and I were feeling a little anxious to get out of the house so we decided to go out for the evening. We actually started out this time at Roscoe's where we walked in, grabbed a drink and then stood in the middle of the bar while different groups of friends took turns looking at us. Now don't get me wrong, while I do enjoy the recent added attention this was just wierd. Talk about feeling like outsiders. We quickly finished our drinks and headed somewhere comfortable to us ... Amsterdam.
Walking into Amsterdam it was nearly empty, so we headed to the back to see if anyone was outside. Our faithful bartender Stacy was tending out back so we grabbed a drink and almost immediately ran into Mike who we met at our Holiday party last year. Mike was there with his friend Michael and was the start of what was to become a really fun friday night.

We hung out, drank, drank some more and got to know Mike and Michael a little better. It's always great to be able to meet new friends, it makes life so much more interesting and much better when you go out because you know so many more people.
After a few laps around the entire complex of Amsterdam, Club Miami and the Malibu Beach Bar, we also ran into Kevin and then Jerry ...

I haven't seen Jerry since Justin's birthday party at our house, so it was good to see him out again. We all decided it was time to head up to Charlie's so Jerry went up with us as well.

We kept running into other people we knew such as Lance and the super cute Lee who just left us this summer to attend Med School in Tucson.
After a little too many drinks the debauchery of the evening started ...

Justin was being molested by first Michael and then Mike while I ended up making out with a 6'5" drag queen. The next thing Jerry, Justin, Mike and I were huddled in the middle of a four way make out session on the back patio. We were drawing quite a bit of attention as we were just doing our thing. Out of the corner of my eye I kept seeing other guys pointing at us all, walking over to us and even going as far as trying to get into the middle of our little four way to make out with us. It was a very interesting time and I'm certainly not going to tell you what happened after that, you'll just have to use your imagination.
As much as I used to say I hated going to Charlie's in the past, it's really changed over the past year. Almost every time we go out there, we end up having a great time and I'm starting to build a library of interesting stories from there.
The good news is that we're going out again tonight, so hopefully more pics to come. Have a great weekend everyone! Cheers.Labels: Jerry Timms, Phoenix

Blue Eyed Boys In The Philadelphia Burbs
|
Now contrary to yesterday's post, I wish I were a perv because I'd actually have photos to illustrate my point here, but unfortunately I don't so please bear with me. Being back here, meaning here as in where I spent the first 18 years of my life, I've come to the conclusion that the Pennsylvania countryside, namily the Philadelphia suburbs, are fairly heterogeneous as far as the people are concerned. I think this may apply to quite a large majority of the north east coast as well but I'm just going to discuess Philadelphia at the moment. It seems to me that so many of the families here are generations old, where many of the people were born here, raised here and have spent their entire lives here. Because of this simple fact, many of us are the offspring of the original German, Polish and Czech settlers who made their way out to settle the Pennsylvania Countryside in the late 1800's. Now while I am starting to see some diversity in the area, the average Philadelphia suburbanite appears to be of some Eastern European descent and frankly I think that's just pretty damn hot.

This leads into to my other conclusion. Walking around the mall today has brought me to believe that there are a disproportionate number of blue eyed boys here in the Philadelphia Suburbs. I looked around and all I saw were boys with blue eyes in every direction. Some blonde hair, some black here, but a majority of them having brown hair. It was almost a tad surreal. Blue eyes everywhere. Old, young, short and tall. For anyone who loves the dark haired, blue eyed boy type, this is certainly the place to be. I guess I'm no exception to this either since I myself also have dark hair and blue eyes. I guess when I was growing up here I never really thought about it or really took the time to look around and compare ... eyes that is, now locker-room penis size, that's another story! So the next time your in the Philly Suburbs, look around for yourself and let me know what you see in the eyes of others.
Alright, now back to my previous comment about the people being heterogeneous. They more or less are. Everyone looks the same. Most of the guys all look alike in both appearance and dress. Clothing style I can usually understand because that's generally influenced by a region, however appearance is another thing. It's easy to see when a group of people stay within their community, the characteristics and traits passed down from generation to generation don't really change all that much. If I would compare old photos of either of my Grandfathers when they were younger with many of the young men I saw walking around today, you could almost see that in three or four generations, the guys here still look strikingly similar. In some ways it's pretty cool in other ways it's sort of creepy.
I will say just one thing though, while the Philly boys are hot, hot, HOT ... the Philly girls, well, lets just say that big hair, tons of makeup and Bon Jovi t-shirts went out in the 80's so girls it's time to throw out the aqua net, the concert t's and move into the 90's. There it is, my Philly fashion tip of the week, god I should get paid for this shit. ;-)
Tonight it's off to my visit with my friends Sean and Suzette, and tomorrow it's off to the family BBQ. Gee it's so exciting to be back home. Alright, more to come this week. Cheers for now.

Watching The Hot Boys at Chicago O'Hare Airport
|
Oh there goes that hot blonde boy wearing the Chicago Fire Fighter t-shirt walking by again. So is it just me or do all of the mid-west boys seem overly hot! Now I guess that's a pretty broad statement especially not knowing if the majority of the hot boys I see wandering through the airport right now are actually from the Midwest ... but still.
Aside from the endless list of reasons why I hate flying into Chicago O'Hare International Airport, the eye candy isn't one of them. Anytime I've worked here, had a layover here, or visited here, there have been a TON of ridiculously beautiful boys traveling through this airport and today is no exception. Unfortunately I'm not a pervert (at least not yet, check back with me in a few years) so I don't have enough nerve to take photos of them, besides the fact that taking a photo of someone in the airport would be just weird. I guess you'll just have to fantasize on your own. ;-)
So anyway, enough about the boys. I made it from Phoenix to Chicago on United this morning and now I'm sitting here waiting for my flight to Philadelphia. Thank god for airport wide wireless internet access and hot eye candy to help alleviate the boredom of my 2 hour layover. I usually try to avoid Chicago O'Hare like the plague because of the countless times I've been stranded here due to inclement weather, however today hasn't been so bad. Looking out the window the sky is blue and completely clear, an unusual rarity for the Windy City based on my many trips here.
Surprisingly Airport security wasn't so bad this morning either with the exception of some unusually long lines for the normally small Terminal 2 in Phoenix. There was this one TSA Agent screaming over and over again at everyone in the security line to "make sure we take anything out of our carry-on's that are now allowed to be taken through security and throw them in the trash cans because they don't have time to check everyone's bag. I thought that was probably the most well thought out and intelligent declaration of the day. LOL, yes that's right these are the people that are supposed to be protecting us. There are so many things wrong with her statement that I can't even discuss it, so I'll just let you figure it out on your own. I'll just say I didn't see anyone throwing anything out, and I also didn't see TSA screening anyone's bags. Hmmmm.
Well I better make this short, I know the text only posts with no photos are pretty damn boring to read, but I just wanted to waste some time. If you did take the time to read this and you have experience in flying through Chicago O'Hare I'd love for you to comment if you agree or disagree with my statement about the hot boys here. Feel free to also include any dirty-filthy airport hookup stories you have about you and one of these hot boys too. I always love a good story. Cheers!

Shameless Self-Photo Post
|
WARNING! Another shameless self-photo post ahead. I'm sorry I just couldn't resist, call me vain, I love taking photos of myself these days. Mainly because it helps me to personally see the progress I'm making, but also because I like to show off the results I've achieved thus far.
I know I'm not quite the muscle boy I want to be yet, but I'm getting damn close. With every new week at the gym I can see dramatic improvements.
After Getting Back From Charlie's Last Saturday Night ...

Daring to Finally Take Shirtless Photos ...

I still have more muscle mass that I want to add, and a little remaining flab around my tummy that I need to ditch. It's happening slowly but surely, but once I finally get there, I think I'm going to be exactly where I've wanted to be physically for a really long time.
I would apologize for all the shameless self-photo posts, and all the gym talk, but I'm really proud of what both Justin and I have been able to accomplish since starting to work out only 6 months ago.
Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive of us in our quest for better bodies, and thanks to all my readers for bearing with me during this journey and overlooking all these shameless self-photo postings. :-)
